Who are we?

Tom’s Creek Baptist Church exists as a fellowship, family, body, and flock. As a fellowship, one of our top priorities is unity and peace (Acts 2:42; Eph. 4:3; Rom. 14:19; 1 Cor. 11:18). As a family, we seek to have compassion and love for one another according to the love our Father has shown us (John 3:16; Rom. 5:8; 1 Corinthians 13; 1 Peter 3:8). As a body, we operate as an organism with many members fulfilling ministry together with our own individual spiritual gifts (Rom. 12:4-6; 1 Cor. 12:27; Eph. 4:11-12). Finally, our church is a flock, which is led by and cared for by our pastor/shepherd as he is guided by the indwelling of the Holy Spirit (Matt. 25:33, 26:31; John 10:1-30; 1 Peter 5:1-2). We have a desire to be a sending church, sending our members out each week to fulfill the Great Commission wherever God may send them.
Because of our convictions about the church, we choose to be affiliated with the Tugalo Baptist Association, the Georgia Baptist Mission Board, and the Southern Baptist Convention so that we can work alongside like-minded churches to fulfill the mission of God.

What is the worship service like?

Music – In terms of music, it is primarily traditional, with an organ, piano, and choir. Our student praise team may also lead in a blended or contemporary song during most morning services. The lyrics to songs are on projection screens in the front of the sanctuary. There is also a time of fellowship when the choir comes down from the choir loft, where we encourage members and visitors to welcome and greet each other.
Preaching – In terms of preaching, our Pastor preaches from the King James Version Bible. He typically preaches expositionally through a single passage of Scripture. We have a time of invitation at the end of every service for people to pray or make decisions for following Christ. Click here to listen to our sermon podcast.
Attire – In terms of attire, we have people ranging from suit and tie to T-shirt and jeans, most leaning towards business casual attire. We do ask attenders to refrain from wearing shorts for worship services if possible; however, at the end of the day, we welcome you to come as you are to worship with us.

What about my children?

We have a nursery for children from ages 0-2 that is located in Educational Building 3. This nursery is open on Sunday morning and evening services, Wednesday services, Sunday School, and Discipleship Training.
During the morning worship service, we have Children’s Church for children ages 3 – 3rd grade. In the basement of Educational Building 3, the children have a time of music and teaching. On Sunday nights, these children are encouraged to sit with their parents during the service. We believe that children learn the most by watching, and our desire is for children to begin to sit with their parents during the evening services to see their parents pay attention, take notes, and worship.

Finally, during Wednesday night services, children ages 3 – Kindergarten participate in Mission Friends, which is across from the nursery in Educational Building 3. Children Kindergarten – 5th grade participate in either RA’s (for boys) or GA’s (for girls).
